How to Apply - Step by Step

Visit the ETA Portal
Go to nepaliport-new.immigration.gov.np and click "New Application". -

Fill Application Form
Enter your personal details, passport info, travel dates, and purpose of visit. -

Upload Documents
Upload a scanned passport copy (valid ≥6 months) and a recent passport photo with white background. -

Pay Online
Pay USD 30 / 50 / 125 via card on the portal. A Submission ID will be issued. -

Receive Visa by Email
Your approved eVisa is emailed to you. Print and carry it when travelling to Nepal.

Gratis Visa - Free of Charge
The following applicants are exempt from paying visa fees:
Children Under 10
All nationalities except US citizens eligible for gratis visa (up to 30 days). Normal fees apply for 90-day visas.
SAARC Citizens
Free visa for up to 30 days, once per calendar year (January–December). Afghan nationals eligible on-arrival only with DoI recommendation.
Chinese Nationals
Eligible for gratis tourist visa for up to 150 days (≈5 months) per visa year.
NRN Card Holders
Non-Residential Nepalese (NRN) citizenship or card holders issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Visa on Arrival - Restrictions
Citizens of the following countries cannot obtain a Visa on Arrival at Nepal's immigration entry points. These applicants must apply in advance via a Nepalese Embassy or the online mission portal.
Visa Extension in Nepal
Tourist visas can be extended inside Nepal up to a combined maximum of 150 days per visa year (January–December). Extensions are processed by Department of Immigration offices in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
Important Notices
- Visa must be utilised within 6 months from the date of issue.
- Once issued, a visa cannot be withdrawn and visa fees cannot be refunded.
- Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months prior to the date of travel.
- Tourist visa maximum stay is 150 days per visa year (January to December).
- Indian citizens do not require a visa to enter Nepal.
- Always check your spam/junk folder - visa approval emails may land there.
- Keep your Submission ID safe - you will need it to track your application status.
- Print your eVisa and carry it with you when entering Nepal at immigration checkpoints.
